I was reading Edudemic’s article, New Padagogy Wheel Helps You Integrate Technology Using SAMR Model and they shared Allan Carrington’s clever, yet artful image of the ‘Padagogy Wheel’. I just had to share it, since it painted such a great picture in how technology can be integrated into teaching and learning!
The band around the edge focuses on the SAMR Model which helps teachers effectively integrate education technology. This updated version of the wheel features dozens of apps and where they could serve the pedagogy. In Allan’s original blog, he noted, “I hope it helps you rethink the iPad’s use in Learning and Teaching…it is not about the tool nor the app..it’s all about the students.” At Learning Exchange, we’re constantly preaching the same message–a device itself and the apps on it are not going to help students learn any better…it’s all about how the device is used to share and deliver curriculum. Hopefully this wheel serves as a tool for teachers as they build their curriculum and integrate technology within it. We’d be happy to discuss your 1to1 strategy and can share some ideas in how to tie curriculum to it. Contact us if you’re interested.
Until next time,
